Overview
Sivas Ucuz Taksi was developed as a full-stack reservation platform that promotes city and intercity transportation services online, allowing customers to plan their trips in advance. The project consists of a mobile-friendly corporate website, an online reservation system, a vehicle and driver directory, an admin panel, and an Express.js-based API.
The Challenge
The project needed to be more than just a promotional site; it had to function as an operational system that facilitates communication between customers and the taxi team. The goal was to enable customers to browse city-to-city or intercity services, call a taxi directly, and create reservations by selecting a route from among 81 provinces. Additionally, the team needed to manage reservations, vehicles, drivers, and administrator accounts through a centralized dashboard.
What Was Done
The application was developed by separating the client-side, built on React and Vite, from the server-side, built on Node.js and Express.js. Reservation, vehicle, driver, and administrator data were modeled using MongoDB and Mongoose. Turkish and English language support, responsive page layouts, dynamic vehicle/driver lists, and phone-based taxi booking workflows were implemented.
Customer information, date, time, and departure and arrival cities were collected via the booking form and stored in the database. Created reservations are automatically forwarded to the business via the WhatsApp Cloud API. The admin panel combines reservation viewing/deletion, vehicle and driver management, administrator account creation, and password change functions using JWT and HttpOnly cookie-based session control.
Result
The result is a comprehensive platform serving as Sivas Ucuz Taksi’s digital storefront and reservation management center. Customers can quickly call a taxi or plan intercity trips by reviewing services, vehicles, and drivers. The business can manage reservation requests, its fleet, and team information from a single dashboard. The system offers a scalable infrastructure that reduces manual reservation processes conducted over the phone and enables more organized tracking of customer requests.
